Shoot-out - My Favorite Things

Well, I'm sure a few of you expected this.

Large Mouth on fly rods

and Salmon on Spinners,

Catfish for breakfast and Flounder for dinner,
Sunshine in Florida and fishing 'til spring,
These are a few of my favorite things.
****
Bears in Alaska and Yellowstone Bison,
Song birds all singing, a new fishing license,

Eagles and Egrets and Pelican wings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
****
Halibut charters and King Salmon spawning,
Sunrises beaming as new days are dawning,
A youngster holding a fish on a string,
These are a few of my favorite things.
****
When life gets tough, when the blues sing,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then the day's not bad.
****
Thanks for visiting. Go fishing!

  2. Oh I loved this post! I mean I loved it so much I want to read it everyday. What joy you shared and catfish for breakfast is also one of my favorite things. I remember getting up early with my grandpa and catching catfish. Granny would cook 'em up with grits, eggs and biscuits. This is still my favorite after ?? years. lol!

  11. I just knew you would be able to set yours to a rhyme! One of my favorite things is watching salmon swim up the streams to spawn but I have no pictures of them. So I was glad to see your salmon photos. And the bears (you were kind of close to them weren't you)!
This week I had no trouble loading your page as I have the past few weeks; so glad to be back visiting.

  12. I love the one of the fish tail hanging out of the cooler - that one must have been a monster! Seriously, though, I had no idea that salmon heads were quite that creepy looking...I'll just stick with eating them (without their scary head), thank you very much :) Great pictures this week!

  17. So many favorites in the batch, but I have to say, the fishtail sticking out of the cooler is my favorite. And hey, nice header! You know my weak spot for Fireweed!

  18. Your family are lucky to have a successful fisherman in the house. The boys are getting good training.

    You like sashimi?

I never had cat fish, are they nice?

By the way, I am going to Australia, my bro has a boat, and I might go out to sea to catch so good fish. Last time I went, we caught lousy ray sharks. Nobody wanted them.

  19. I feel so hungry and I even so thrill and excited while looking those catches, I mean the fish! I wish I can go fishing with your family someday.

  20. Loved the bear, bison and eagle. Don't you need a very big hook for a Large Mouth???

  21. Oh Lord, I'm jealous of all of your fishing!!! I should talk to you about killing those beauties! We recently had an issue with killing a brown trout!
Oh, what an eye knocker the eagle is! I loved them all!!!!!

  22. Somehow, I knew when I came here I would get a fish story.

Always love to see your fish photos, Gordon. I don't know how you do it, but you are "The Man" when it comes to fishing.

Gordon: Nonillion fish (yes that is an actual number, at least in dollars)

Patty: 0 fish. And that is the truth. I caught 0 fish all year, though one did get away. It was so small I can't even turn it into a fish story.

I am still alive, Gordon. Just busy. Hope you are well.
