Shoot-out: Dressed up for Christmas

In St. Augustine, we have an annual Christmas holiday Nights of Lights celebration. The city is lighted before December and extends into January. Many peoplke come from miles around to stroll the bayfront and enjoy the beauty.

Lights advertising the celebration are at both of the old city gates entrances.

Lightner museum is one of the main attractions, anytime, but especially during the Nights of Lights..

Many weddings and other ceremonies are held in the courtyard.

We welcome you to come and share in our celebration. As the header photo says, "Ya'll come!"

Your visit may just give you new youth and vitality.

Ride the night away in one of the horse-drawn carriages.

Thanks for visiting, and remember that Jesus Christ is the reason for the season.

  7. St Augustine is splendid at night, all dressed for the season. Now, before my busy day starts, I think I'll stop off at the Fountain of Youth (though I do feel spry enough to walk the two blocks instead of drive!)

  17. What? Say it ain't so! I was sure to be greeted by a Christmas fish. Not one fish to be seen.

That museum is fantastic. I could use a little Fountain of Youth. Got that Santa?

Great photos, Gordon. And you weather looks wonderful, as usual. We missed the blunt of a storm and got a scattering of snow last night. About 40 minutes of the road, they got slammed. The bay saved us.

I had to shoot the snow last night. I was glad it went by because I was not looking forward to shooting today. I am staying inside and sitting by the fire like an an old cat, if my cats will make room for me.

    Merry Christmas!
