You may remember my posting of farm implements when the theme was metal. Many of you were not shooters then. I apologize for revisiting this farm just west of St. Augustine, but, my first shooting there was basically pathetic. Justice cannot be served at this place with just a few shots. The owner has collected old farm implements from all over the southeast for display. These are not repostings of old shots. All are new, today.
Because the name of the ranch/farm is a little "different", I didn't even divulge it before. This time I will give you the total experience.
The post is long. If you get bored, I'm sorry. After the first three shots, I will let the photos speak for themselves.
Bill, is an employee. He is a little old and weathered, too. A very nice man, though.
Click to see the ranch name.
Read it very carefully, and then,
GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER!!
I did not shoot in the museum. Maybe another Friday.
I hope you enjoy viewing these as much as much as I enjoyed shooting them. With this subject, each photo is much more impressive enlarged. Happy browsing!
Hi Gordon,
ReplyDeleteI just adore old rusted stuff! Great post, and have a great weekend!
Since I've been shooting for Friday Shoot outs I've been so attracted to rusty things. I want to stop all the time and take pictures of rust :) Now I got to shoot a few things like that. What a great place to visit for rust! You hit the nail on the head. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Gigi, you hit the nail on the head. My husband and I both love looking at old rusty farm equipment. We love tractors and old rusted trucks. All of your photos are fantastic. I especially like the green and pink tractor. (or is it red?) Lots of good stuff here.
ReplyDeleteI like that every time I land on your page you've done something different with your header.
And I did not get bored with your post.
Wow - what great photos. there are many old farm implements in farmers fields around here. I like the way they look in the tall grass. Like a garden ornament in it's proper setting. great post.
ReplyDeleteWell, this is certainly a manly man's shoot. It is also a photographer's shoot. I love all the different angles, some very creative.
ReplyDeleteOld farm implements are wonderful to shoot. They have so much to say, and your camera gave these a voice.
The old street sign and the skulls are great but I do not have a favorite - they are all delightful. Oh, and I did not have to enlarge the photo to read it. I was afraid there was a puzzle somewhere in that photo.
The black and whites are nice, too.
WOW...You're town takes the cake with this one!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I am so very curious about some of these. Wonder what they were used for! Love the contrast between the old rust, and the new green.
ReplyDeleteBull's Hit Farm! Ha! This place is where all old farm implements must end up, how cool. The ones that are overtaken by cacti are fabulous; well, but really they're all great.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the shot on your header - I love that it's different every week. I really like the picture that you took of the bleached skulls...very cool and appropriate for the theme. Oh, and best name for a ranch EVER :)
ReplyDeleteI think a few of those tractors have seen better days. very interesting and good that someone is preserving the old machinery. have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeletep.s. love your header shot!!
ReplyDeletelove the name of the farm, the old wagon, and the gas pump!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful header! It's nice that someone has collected up all that aged and weathered machinery and is giving it all a home - for all of us to enjoy. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteA truly marvelous selection.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine a city Singaporean mum will discourage her kids from visitng this place," Don't go, if you fall over, you will get tetanus."
ReplyDeleteYou were spot on on the goal post. It is either a soccer post or a rugby post. I don't watch games and I just happened to make a detour yesterday to see if I could take any nice photos.
Very interesting! The rusty stuff screams Tetanus to me.
ReplyDeleteThe name of the farm made me smile at first glance. :-) Great shoots Gordon! The farm tools have great responsibilities and really have important role in the farm. Thanks for sharing. Great angle in your part.
ReplyDeleteOh delicious!! All new to me!! Wonderful shots - I can't choose a fav!! Sarah
ReplyDeleteFantastic work! I love the old tractors with the tires simply wearing away. Plus, that first B&W shot is stunning!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love these. You did a really great job, what an awesome post...the downside? I can't pick a favorite! I love them all!
ReplyDeleteThese are all fantastic! My favorite is the one with the old road sign.
ReplyDeleteBull's Hit has the market cornered on rust! You have some beautiful pictures here Gordon. There are some interesting angles. The conestoga wagon has seen better days. I bet it has some interesting stories connected to it. The old spoked wheels are so picturesque. Thanks for sharing in color and B&W. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI am with Gigi...I have always been attracted to the older things in life...they tell a story, and face it we all age and weather...its just a wonderful thing in life we all have to embrace...
ReplyDeleteThese are so cool.....and I love B&W photography ...!
