FRIDAY SHOOT-OUT: OLD & WEATHERED

You may remember my posting of farm implements when the theme was metal. Many of you were not shooters then. I apologize for revisiting this farm just west of St. Augustine, but, my first shooting there was basically pathetic. Justice cannot be served at this place with just a few shots. The owner has collected old farm implements from all over the southeast for display. These are not repostings of old shots. All are new, today.
Because the name of the ranch/farm is a little "different", I didn't even divulge it before. This time I will give you the total experience.
The post is long. If you get bored, I'm sorry. After the first three shots, I will let the photos speak for themselves.

Bill, is an employee. He is a little old and weathered, too. A very nice man, though.

Click to see the ranch name.
Read it very carefully, and then,
GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER!!

I did not shoot in the museum. Maybe another Friday.
I hope you enjoy viewing these as much as much as I enjoyed shooting them. With this subject, each photo is much more impressive enlarged. Happy browsing!

I could not resist doing some in B & W.

Thanks for visiting.

  2. Since I've been shooting for Friday Shoot outs I've been so attracted to rusty things. I want to stop all the time and take pictures of rust :) Now I got to shoot a few things like that. What a great place to visit for rust! You hit the nail on the head. Have a great weekend.

  3. I agree with Gigi, you hit the nail on the head. My husband and I both love looking at old rusty farm equipment. We love tractors and old rusted trucks. All of your photos are fantastic. I especially like the green and pink tractor. (or is it red?) Lots of good stuff here.

I like that every time I land on your page you've done something different with your header.

And I did not get bored with your post.

  4. Wow - what great photos. there are many old farm implements in farmers fields around here. I like the way they look in the tall grass. Like a garden ornament in it's proper setting. great post.

  5. Well, this is certainly a manly man's shoot. It is also a photographer's shoot. I love all the different angles, some very creative.

Old farm implements are wonderful to shoot. They have so much to say, and your camera gave these a voice.

The old street sign and the skulls are great but I do not have a favorite - they are all delightful. Oh, and I did not have to enlarge the photo to read it. I was afraid there was a puzzle somewhere in that photo.

The black and whites are nice, too.

  7. Fantastic! I am so very curious about some of these. Wonder what they were used for! Love the contrast between the old rust, and the new green.

  8. Bull's Hit Farm! Ha! This place is where all old farm implements must end up, how cool. The ones that are overtaken by cacti are fabulous; well, but really they're all great.

  13. I can imagine a city Singaporean mum will discourage her kids from visitng this place," Don't go, if you fall over, you will get tetanus."

You were spot on on the goal post. It is either a soccer post or a rugby post. I don't watch games and I just happened to make a detour yesterday to see if I could take any nice photos.

  20. Bull's Hit has the market cornered on rust! You have some beautiful pictures here Gordon. There are some interesting angles. The conestoga wagon has seen better days. I bet it has some interesting stories connected to it. The old spoked wheels are so picturesque. Thanks for sharing in color and B&W. Lovely!
